Free Nordic Walking taster session

Do you know which exercise uses 90% of the muscles in your body and burns 46% more calories than ordinary walking?

Nordic Walking is the answer! It's an enhancement of ordinary walking and the technique makes something we can all do twice as effective! We're running a free taster session at Betteshanger on 6th May. Come and try it to find out more!

Nordic Walking is a specific exercise technique and is not to be confused with trekking, hillwalking or rambling. It's easy on the knees and joints and great for those with back, neck and shoulder problems. It's safe, sociable and suitable for all abilities but in order to gain maximum benefit it is essential to learn to correct technique.

Meet us at the Visitor Centre at 10am for a free 45 minute taster session. Equipment will be provided but please wear trainers or walking boots.

To book your place call 07783 428846 or email nordicwalkingeastkent@gmail.com

We are aiming to run regular sessions at Betteshanger, so if you enjoy the taster you will be able to sign up for more lessons and sessions.

Bows & Arrows Weekend

It’s bows at the ready this May half term, as a packed week of half term activities kicks off with Bows and Arrows weekend.

On Saturday, 28th and Sunday, 29th May you are invited to become a Betteshanger Bowman (or woman) for the day with beginners’ archery sessions.

Led by qualified instructors, you'll feel the strength of the bow and the speed of the arrow as you aim towards the target. With one-to-one tuition you'll quickly learn how to shoot with a basic recurve bow, just like those used in Olympic competition; acquire the correct body stance and accurate aim before attempting to shoot balloons on the target.

Betteshanger’s archery range is perfect for beginners, with the shooting distance and poundage of the bows set to suit the individual.

Normally only available to pre-booked groups, the activity will be open to visitors ages 8 and over from 10am-3.30pm. Each session lasts 60 minutes. There is a charge of £7.50 per archer or £20 for a family (2 adults, 2 children). Pre-booking is advised.
